It's a Green Theme!

Some wonderful friends and family in Cisco thew me one heck of a shower. Gee people! It was awesome! Great friends, great food, great gifts, great fun.... Again, saying we are "blessed" is an understatement. We had wonderful yummy green foods: white chocolate covered green grapes, cheesecake w/ kiwi on top, the best in the world spinach artichoke dip, thumbprints, petifores, mini sandwiches, green sherbet punch... oh so good!!!

We are FULLY, and I mean FULLY covered... we got our stroller, mattress, changing pad, blankets, towels, clothes, books, diapers, wipes, bath items, etc, etc, etc... I keep saying if there happens to be 2 babies in there, we are prepared! We got so much stuff that my great in-laws are having to bring a load!

Cannot thank all of our friends and family enough for sharing in our excitement for the upcoming arrival of our sweet little boy. It means a lot to us that everyone is just as excited as we are to meet Baby J! We can't wait to share is name... well maybe we can! Ha! Sorry everyone... hopefully no more than 6 weeks! *This picture is terrible of me, however, it's pretty funny of Aunt Sharon- she looks terrified of my belly! haha....

Crazy women of Cisco...

My wonderful mother-in-law beat me down this weekend for not mentioning that 7 of them made a long 5.5 hour drive from Cisco (and one from Lubbock) to Roswell for my shower.

My only excuse for not mentioning this wonderful group is "pregnancy brain"! I'm SO sorry. Don't hate me. I loved you ALL being there and it did mean a LOT to me that you came... Thank you sweet (most of the time) mother-in-law Sheila, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Shelly, Marcia, Judy, Janelle & Pattie for being a wonderful addition to my shower! Love you all!

It's a BabyQ!

Some sweet friends of mine and my mom's threw me one heck of a baby shower in Roswell on 10.3.09. The theme was a "BabyQ" so we had baby back ribs, green chile chicken, shrimp, cheddar biscuits, tea, lemonade, cake... It was amazing to say the least. Talk about people "showering" us with gifts. Wow. There's a lot of people that seem to love us for some reason. I had a couple surprises: two of my co-workers from Lubbock drove in for the shower and surprised me and my cousin Jen and her husband Brad also showed up. I was completely taken off guard and was not expecting that. It was awesome and it meant the world to me that they came. The shower was held in my mom's great friend, Nita's backyard. What a pretty backyard she has. It was the perfect setting. It rained all morning that day, so we were worried that it would rain at the shower (which was at 5pm). BUT, the weather was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. The air was cool and there was a slight breeze... perfect weather for my mom. She was able to stay basically the entire shower and watched me open every single gift. As you will see in some of my pictures, my dad, brother, cousin and grandfather were all present at the shower. Yes, I know, showers aren't for boys, but I wanted them there with me. I loved having them there. I wish my sweet, hardworking husband was there, but has been working on wrapping up his education at UT.

We absolutely cannot wait for our baby boy to be here. We are ridiculously excited and look forward to his safe arrival. We are SO completely blessed by our friends and family, that "thank you" will never be enough. This baby boy doesn't have a clue how many people love him and cannot wait to meet him... and know his name of course! 7 more weeks...

We are off Cisco this weekend for yet another wonderful shower. Pictures of that madness to come...

30 weeks & this egg is about to crack!

Whoa, big mamma alert!!! Watch out people. My belly is officially ridiculously large. It's one heck of a sight. I am astonished every time I see myself in the mirror. Amazing what the human body can do. Let's just hope this belly snaps back into place almost immediately after our little guy makes his entrance! If I don't fit back into my normal clothes when I got back to work after 6 or so weeks, I think I will have a nervous breakdown.

I have an appointment on Wednesday, then the next appointment in October will be our last sono--- I'll be about 34 weeks and they will do one last check of the baby's position and size. Let's just hope he's no 8 pounds at that point--- he sure feels that way right now.

Ryan and I did nothing but crack up all yesterday and last night... I swear the little guy was trying to punch a hole through my belly! He's crazy! I think he knows he makes us laugh, so he keeps it up!

Off to NM this weekend for our Roswell shower. Stay tuned for some shower pictures...

Little by little...

I painted & distressed our armoire...

Mom & Dad Mooney bought us a great dresser...

Mom & Dad Johnson bought us an awesome new crib and adorable bedding...

I created the curtain that you see... the bedding came w/ a valance- the green polka dot section at the bottom of the curtain. I am not a huge valance fan. I already had a chocolate brown curtain that happened to be a little short, so I got some handy hemming tape, and ironed on the new valance to the bottom of my existing curtain. I think it turned out pretty good...

I am wanting a fully upholstered glider/rocker- so hoping to get that soon...

We still need to get a mattress, but I couldn't stand the suspense and had to set up the bedding as much as I could...

Much more to do, but you get the idea. I'll post more pictures as things get completed. We have some amazing showers coming soon. We are SO blessed to have so many people that love us. This is SUCH an exciting time in our lives... thank you for sharing it with us. Looking forward to holding Baby J!

Lastly, we FINALLY decided on a name, yet we will continue to keep it a secret until Baby J arrives!

Being 26

So, I will turn 26 on Sunday. Wow. Hard to believe! My husband just turned 24 in May. Wow, I really am old. Don't worry, he constantly reminds me of that!

Well, at the bank, us girls do what we call "Birthday Club". For each girls birthday, we have either breakfast or lunch, and everyone brings a gift. Great times. They celebrated my birthday today since it will be on Sunday. What a fun group of girls I work with! Also, we got to wear jeans to work today, as well as our favorite team colors... I represented for TTU of course! Enjoy few pics of the fun...

28 weeks & I feel like a heifer! **warning: this is NOT an optical illusion!**

Wish I looked like this at 40 weeks- but we don't always get what we want now do we? I NEVER thought I would be this huge--- at least not until the END! I've gained 22+ lbs, all or most of which seems to be going straight to my gut. Hope that doesn't mean the baby will be a 20+ pounder! Yikes!

I took my glucose test this week- testing for gestational diabetes. Haven't received the results back, but I assume all is well. My next appointment is this Wednesday. Just the normal checkup. Still hard to believe that it's time for me to go in every 2 weeks! Wow!

I am still randomly barfing. Two days in a row so far and it's only Monday. Hope I'm not starting back a trend!

Ryan & I took a birthing class this past weekend at the hospital where the baby will be born- Seton Medical Center. It was worth taking, however, I thought they were going to show a live birth video... I thought that would help prepare Ryan for what he will see- but they didn't show any videos. Boys gonna have some wide eyes on that day! We are taking our infant CPR class in early October.

The baby's room is coming along. Can't wait to get it finished and definitely can't wait to have our little boy in there! Gosh, we are so excited and blessed. Life is grand and so is my belly!

Turtle Marathon 2009

The Roswell Runner's club puts on a fun run to honor my Mom. It is a benefit to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis on behalf of Liz Mooney. There was a great crowd- not sure how many, but a lot people came out. We had our usual sponsors; Kraft Law Firm, Subway, Dr. Jack & Linda Graham (my aunt and uncle), My dad, Rio Pecos OB-GYN, Roswell Runners Club, Sam's Club & Roswell Recreation Dept. The race includes a full marathon, 1/2 marathon, 5K run & 5K walk. I for SURE didn't participate this year... but after seeing my brother walk the 5K with his cane, maybe I should have! Dad ran the 1/2 marathon, then decided to show off and show how disgusting he was, he ALSO run the 5K. How sick is that!? Way to go dad- you 54 year old soon to be grandpaw! Ryan ran the 5K. My uncle Jim from Louisiana surprised us and drove in for the race and also ran the 5K.

Funny story: Sunday afternoon, Ryan decided to go golfing by himself. He played a couple holes, caught up with a local who was also playing by himself and started playing with him. Then, another guy came from behind and asked to play with Ryan and the local guy. Ryan just stared at him and said, "NO WAY!?" Well, it was my uncle Jim from Louisiana. What are the odds of running into my uncle from Louisiana, in Roswell on the golf course when neither of them knew the other was in town. Ryan had to keep it a secret that uncle Jim was in town though. It was a nice surprise to see him at the race the following morning.

Next year I hope to be running at least the 5K with my little boy in his stroller! Fun stuff!

26 weeks & I have a dinosaur egg in my belly!

Holy cow! My belly is one massive piece of art! It's shocking to see pictures of myself in the "condition" that I am in! However, it is also weird to see myself in old pictures when I am not pregnant. As you will notice, I have one heck of a protruding belly button! I tell people that if they push it, someone at Sonic just may in fact take your order. It's super weird!

This little boy is SUPER active! He flips and flops, punches and kicks, rolls and thumps all day long! Seems like a healthy little one baking in there! I know he loves my super spicy food that I still eat- he's going to come out wanting me to spike his bottles w/ Tabasco sauce! I have my next appointment on the 2nd of September, then I will start going every 2 weeks! THEN after October 14th (my last sonogram to measure how big he is), I will go every week! Wow, time flies when you're not barfing everyday. Speaking of... the barfing situation has definitely taken a turn for the better! I might only get sick maybe 1-2 times a week, yet still feel a little nauseated in the mornings. Overall, I feel pretty good. I should have no complaints.

I think I started a baby boom at work--- there are not 3 pregnant women at the bank! Fun times!

Gosh, we are super ready for this sweet baby to be here. We have the crib set up, but not yet the bedding... the armoire is ready to go... still need to get a chair/glider and a changing table/dresser. Still haven't decided on those last two items yet though. We've picked out and purchased the bedding. It is brown, green and blue. I HATE themes... mostly cheap looking themes like Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues, Buzz Lightyear, dorky sports or animal themes (yes, I know some of these last two can be tastefully done) etc... but we went with some bedding that has cute frogs on it.

Dad came in for a visit to Austin last weekend. We had a great time... we enjoyed the best BBQ in the world- SaltLick, went outlet shopping, watched movies, ate Italian food and had some good times. The Johnson's will be coming in tonight for the weekend. Again, we are going to go to SaltLick (yummm) and do some baby shopping. Fun times to be had!

I broke it to my brother that I need him to be there with me when I deliver if my dad can't make it on time. He was a little freaked out, but once I explained that I needed someone to represent the Mooney's, he understood. It means a lot to me that he is willing to stand beside Ryan & I (without looking down below!) as I deliver my first baby. It's a huge, tough pill to swallow to accept that my mom can't be there to support me like I so badly want/need... and the likelihood that my dad can get away on short notice probably isn't an option either. Sometimes I can't imagine doing this on "my own" without my parents, but I guess if that's the cards I am dealt, then that's the way it's going to be- after all, I have THE BEST husband in the world that will be there. I also have the best (and I'm not just saying that b/c I know they will read this blog) in-laws in the world (who only live 3 hours away) that will be here. Life is life... it is what it is... (sigh)

I know I am blessed. Extremely Blessed.

22-23 weeks

(picture from 8/1/09 at Mason & Beth's wedding)

So, it's really nice to be on the back end of this whole pregnancy thing. It's nice to have less weeks to go than I've already completed. Like I said last time, I feel like I am growing by the second. Oy! I'm thinking he's going to be a big baby- Lord help me! Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I am just feeling huge and growing a lot since I barfed for the first 5 months? Or maybe it's because I'm in the middle to end of my 2nd trimester? Well, my belly button officially is out and proud. It looks like it never belonged inside. I was told that I "look like a cabbage patch doll". Other than the fact that you get such a gift of a baby at the end of it all- I wish pregnancy itself on no one. Next time, maybe I'll hire a surrogate? Ha- just kidding. Well, I've been feeling the baby move since around 18 weeks. But, this past week Baby Boy Johnson kicked it up a notch... not only do I feel his little jabs/thuds, but I feel like he's flipping around in there or something! I feel a thump in the middle of my belly, then right after I feel a thump on the right right. Crazy. Amazing. Entertaining. A miracle. Just plain nuts. Ryan can really feel the little boy moving around. Sometimes the little one is so strong Ryan thinks it's me and not the baby. Boy beats me up all day.

Funny, yet scary story: Last Thursday I was on my way home from work around 5:20pm. I was talking to Ryan and he told me that our crib had been delivered by the UPS guy around 4 or so. I asked him if he'd run get me Subway for when I got home. So, around 6pm I pulled in the parking lot and saw that Ryan's car was gone. I assumed he was getting my dinner. I walked in the front door and Sydney (black pug) was there to greet me. Was Lola? Nope. I asked Sydney where her sister was, but of course she didn't seem to understand. I asked where her daddy was and still got no response. Several minutes later, the front office of our apartments called me to tell me that they had Lola there. I said, "what!? Why is she there?" Well, apparently about 1.5-2 hours before when the crib was being delivered, Lola snuck out the front door!! She didn't have a collar or anything on. Wow. Pug doesn't know how good she has it here. When Ryan walked in the door with her, she trotted in like nothing ever happened. Not a care in the world. I still don't get how Ryan didn't notice that she was missing- oh well, she's okay.

I am off to New Mexico this weekend to see my parents. It's probably going to be the second to last trip that I make since I'm getting close to the end and NM is so far away. This chick is going to shed some tears when she leaves- it happens every time. I have the best parents and family, what can I say? I miss them.

Went to the doctor today for my check up. ONE more appointment in 4 weeks- then I start going every 2 weeks! THEN every week. THEN we have a baby! Whoot whoot! All is perfect with our baby. Praise the Lord. All blood tests have come back normal. Being thankful is an understatement.

Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary. A lot has happened in 3 years: We started out in our first little apartment, I started my first real job, we bought our first home, Ryan graduated from TTU, we sold our first home, we moved to Austin, Ryan started grad school at UT, I transferred with PCB to Austin, we rented a home, we found out we were having a baby, we moved to a new apartment, we found out it's a BOY... It's been the busiest, best 3 years of our lives. When you marry your best friend, life just can't get any better. There's much, much more in store for us. We don't know where God has planned for us to go, but we're on this road together with our pugs and our soon to be baby boy. Lord knows moving to Austin never crossed my mind. But here we are. I love it here. I don't want to leave (unless it's to be closer to family). I don't want to start over again. But I'll go where we are supposed to be- I might be crying the whole way, but I'll go. I love my Ryan and I would go anywhere with him.
